The Life of a baloon in a hot weather
Hot weather and event season is coming. We have a lot of requests for outdoor picnics, brunch, baby showers or weddings. Weather is always crucial in this case, but we always try to have Plan B if the weather will disappoint. Especially in London where the weather is always unpredictable, we need to plan for every event. Most of us will be able to entertain guests in our gardens, meaning that we can take full advantage of the glorious weather that is coming. Those special birthdays, baby showers, picnics, and barbecues are what we are living for every summer.
We always pride ourselves on the relationships with clients, and not only balloon-related but also décor related. When we set up outdoor decoration, we are keen to educate on how to make your balloons live longer and look a little better under the heat. We think it will be useful to share a little of our knowledge and advice with you, so you can ensure you get the best results on your event.
The most important thing to consider is that balloons may not last as well outdoors as they will indoors. We have some tricks and tips for your balloon display to add a little more longevity.
Tips we will always advise to take into consideration for outdoor display:
Never watering your balloons, to cool them down. Where possible try to plan for external balloons to be in a covered area. Wet balloons became sticky. A good trick is to double the balloons, so it can be a great option to bolster the top layer of your display or arch, by creating a slightly tougher shield to the balloons. Underinflate is crucial! We never inflate any ballons to their max. This will give balloons some extra elasticity, and space. Avoid using helium if possible, as heat can accelerate the diffusion process speed up the escape of helium, and reduce float time.
Last but not least, avoid using dark colors where possible especially outside in hot weather. Dark color soak up the heat a lot quicker than light colors. Pastel colour will serve you well in hot weather and it will look stunning at a baby shower, or picnic.
We always supply high-quality latex balloons, but we cannot prevent the elements from affecting their lifespan.
